Refraction
Created for the 2022 Global Game Jam through a 48-hour jam.
Refraction is a game where you play as a particle of light, speeding through an endless abyss. However, you are under attack from other light particles that are on opposite ends of the spectrum. Help the particle fight back against these endless attackers as you phase shift from infrared to ultraviolet to see your enemies and dispatch them. See how long you can last and how fast you can go! Core mechanic: Side-Scroller, 2d shooter. Player switches between two phases, allowing it to see one type of enemy. Both enemy types can harm the player, However, the player can only see one enemy type at a time. Switching between phases does not stop the incoming attacks from unseen enemies. All enemies will be able to damage the player so they must switch between phases in order to coordinate their movements. // Controls: || WASD or arrow keys - Movement // Right Click - Phase shift // Left Click - Fire sub-particle // Mouse Position - Aiming for fire //
